1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how SVEN ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use our Chrome extension. As a developer based in Sweden, we process your information in strict compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

3. How Translation Data Is Handled

SVEN passes subtitle text through only for the time needed to provide translations.

• No Logging or Storage: We do not log, store, or otherwise keep the subtitle text extracted from your browser.
• No Viewing History: We do not track, collect, or store the URLs, titles, or history of the media you watch.

Subtitle text is held only briefly in memory for the time needed to send it to our translation provider, after which it is discarded.

4. Data We Collect and Why

Account Information: We collect your email address and an encrypted password to manage your account and access to SVEN.

Subscription Data: We process details such as your access status, gift codes, and renewal or expiration dates to verify your access to SVEN. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe; we do not collect or store your credit card details.

Legal Basis: Under the GDPR, we process this data based on the necessity to perform our service contract with you.

5. Third-Party Services

To operate SVEN, we share necessary data with trusted service providers:

• Supabase: Authentication and data storage.
• Stripe: Secure payment processing.
• Resend: Transactional email delivery (confirmations, resets, and alerts).
• Cloudflare: DNS and domain management.
• Google Cloud: For processing translation requests. Translation data is processed by Google's API but not stored by SVEN.

6. User Rights and Data Retention

You have the right to access, rectify, or permanently erase your personal data at any time. We retain account data only for as long as it is needed to provide SVEN and meet our legal obligations. If you request account deletion, we will complete the deletion of your personal information from our active systems within 30 days of your request. During that period, your account may remain in a pending deletion state so we can honor any remaining subscription period or trial period and handle necessary financial, fraud-prevention, or legal retention requirements. Financial and transaction records processed through Stripe are retained for 7 years in accordance with the Swedish Accounting Act (Bokföringslagen, SFS 1999:1078). Where the law requires us to keep limited records for longer, we will retain only what is necessary for that purpose.

7. Chrome Web Store Policy Compliance

SVEN strictly adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We explicitly confirm that we do not sell your personal data, transfer it to information resellers, or use it for targeted advertising or creditworthiness evaluations.

8. Google API Services

SVEN's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to SVEN, legal obligations, or our operational practices. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and revise the effective date so users can see when the latest changes took effect.
