FAQ
How do I install SVEN?
Add the extension to Chrome and pin it to your toolbar for quick access. Open the popup to reach the settings dashboard, where you can turn SVEN on or off globally or adjust it for specific platforms.
How do I get started?
Sign in from the settings dashboard and start watching. SVEN keeps previously translated lines ready in your browser, so rewinding, replaying scenes, and jumping back through a video feels faster and smoother.
Do I need to change languages for every video?
No. SVEN can detect subtitle language automatically and adapt more smoothly in the background, so you do not have to keep changing settings as often when moving between different videos.
How do subscriptions work?
SVEN is a subscription service managed through Stripe. If you prefer not to use recurring billing, you can also activate access with a one-time gift code for a fixed access period. If a trial is currently available, your status will be shown directly in the settings dashboard.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time from the Account & Membership section in the settings dashboard. For a step-by-step guide, see How to cancel your subscription.
Is SVEN useful for language learning?
Yes. SVEN can show the original subtitle together with the translation, making it easier to compare phrasing, pick up new words, and stay immersed while watching real content.
Which platforms are currently supported?
SVEN currently supports SVT Play, TV4 Play, UR Play, NRK TV, Yle Areena, Pluto TV, and YouTube. Subtitle sizing also adapts to the video player, which helps keep subtitles readable across smaller windows, picture-in-picture, and full-screen viewing.
What happens if I delete my account?
Deleting your account stops future billing immediately. You keep access to SVEN until the end of your current subscription period or trial period, and your account data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
Where do account emails come from?
Verification, confirmation, recovery, and
billing-related emails may arrive from
addresses at
@svenpremium.com. If you are
expecting an email, check your spam folder
and make sure the domain is allowed.
Why doesn't SVEN work on some videos?
SVEN requires the website to provide native subtitles as separate text tracks. If a video has no subtitles at all, or if the subtitles are embedded directly in the video stream (burned in) rather than provided as standard website subtitles, SVEN cannot access or translate them.
Can other extensions interfere with SVEN?
Yes, other browser extensions that modify video players, subtitles, or page content can interfere with SVEN and cause unintended results. If you experience unexpected behavior, try disabling other extensions temporarily to see if the problem resolves.
